AVGA GOLF

Senior Golfers from South Australia and New South Wales recently visited Mainland U.S.A. visiting the beautiful Scottsdale and Sedona areas of Arizona. The Mens Division in the closing stages was a tussle between Jim Screen (Roseville) and George Thomson (Concord). Despite returning 36 points in the final round it was not enough for George Thomson to catch Jim Screen who carded 35 points and able to hold out George to win by 1 point !

The AVGA is touring around the beautiful Scottsdale and Sedona areas of Arizona. Golf courses have been presented in excellent condition and the weather has been wonderful with very low humidity. Queensland claims to have the best weather in Australia. It would be hard to disagree as we have had 3 weeks of magnifcent golfing weather on the recent two Sunshine Coast tours. Staying at the wonderful Clubb Coolum Apartments on the coast, the spectacular sunrises and sunsets put on a great show. Whilst only a small number of participants attended this year's tours the comraderie experienced amongst everyone made for a wonderful time in beautiful weather.
